Welcome new students and families! We hope that you will have a wonderful school year at Thurston.
April - May is for The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress, or M-STEP.
The M-STEP test is designed to measure student growth on content learned in the current school year. English language arts (reading and writing) and mathematics will be assessed in grades 3–8, science in grades 5 and 8, and social studies in grades 4 and 7.
*ELL students who have been in the USA schools for less than 1 year are not required to take the English Language Arts sections of the test.

Thurston International Night will be on Friday, May 3, starting at 5:30 in the evening. This is a wonderful night to share culture and friends. There will be performances, food, displays and more throughout the school. Contact the Thurston school PTSO if you would like to
participate
The end of the year Ice Cream Social will be on June 7th at 5:30 pm. Come and share the family fun with school friends.
*A special thanks again to all of the new and continuing parent volunteers this winter. We have many new students and your help is appreciated!
Remember spring is coming!
